Naples to host European Under-23 Judo Championships

Naples is set to host the European Under-23 Judo Championships from October 30 to November 1 at the PalaVesuvio in Ponticelli. The event is expected to draw nearly 300 athletes from 35 nations to compete for individual and mixed team European titles.

The championships represent a key milestone for young judokas transitioning toward senior elite competition. The event was officially presented by local officials, including Naples Mayor Gaetano Manfredi, alongside representatives from the European Judo Union and the Italian Judo Federation (FIJLKAM).

This marks the first time Italy has hosted a major continental youth judo championship since the European Junior Championships in Rome in 1999, and the first major international judo event in Naples in 50 years.
