Naples hosts charity events and theatrical tributes to Maradona

Naples is hosting several cultural and charitable events centered on the legacy of Diego Armando Maradona and community support.

On September 26, Piazza del Plebiscito will host ‘Una Serata di Stelle per PUPI’, a charity show organized by the Fondazione PUPI and the Municipality of Naples. The event features a diverse cast including Max Pezzali, Elisa, Rosario Miraggio, and Gianfranco Zola. The program includes musical performances and sports-related tributes, specifically honoring Maradona’s memory with appearances by Claudia Villafañe, Pedro Pasculli, and Ciro Ferrara.

Additionally, the ‘L’Abbraccio di Diego’ event, promoted by the Associazione Parole e Musica, is scheduled for September 22 at Parco San Laise. This initiative focuses on supporting people with mental disabilities and their families through art and music, featuring an auction of works by artist Salvador Gaudenti.

Looking further ahead, a new theatrical production titled ‘Numero 10’ is set to debut at the Teatro Palapartenope on October 3, 2026. Produced by Coloriamo i Sogni, the play aims to explore the complex human legacy of Maradona beyond his football achievements, featuring insights from Maradona Jr.
