Naples travel agency Joshua accused of holiday booking fraud

More than 50 individuals have filed formal complaints against Joshua, a digital-only travel agency based in Portici, near Naples, following an alleged fraudulent scheme involving non-existent holiday packages.

Victims report paying significant sums—ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 euros per person—for cruises and summer stays in destinations such as Sharm el-Sheikh. Many discovered their bookings had never been made only as their departure dates approached, leaving them unable to take their vacations.

Legal representative Francesco Petruzzi is managing the case, seeking both the restitution of funds paid via bank transfer and compensation for ruined holidays. The situation has gained political attention through public denunciations by Member of Parliament Francesco Emilio Borrelli. This incident follows a similar reported case involving another agency in the Arco Felice area of Pozzuoli.
