A 59-year-old man, Moreno Capcha, was injured in Naples after being struck in the eye by a projectile during a shooting in the Pianura district. The victim, a Peruvian national and worker with no criminal record, was walking to work at dawn when two individuals on a scooter passed him, resulting in the injury.
Capcha was rushed to Cardarelli Hospital for emergency surgery to extract the projectile. Medical professionals are currently monitoring him to determine if he will suffer permanent vision loss in his left eye.
Investigators from the Squadra Mobile and the Pianura Commissariat are looking into the incident. While one report suggests the projectile may have come from an air gun, forensic evidence and the victim's account of a small-caliber revolver suggest a targeted raid or gang-related activity in the area. Authorities believe the man was not the intended target of the attack, which occurred amidst ongoing tensions in the neighborhood.
