Napoleon Bonaparte immersive exhibition launches in France
A new immersive exhibition titled ‘Napoleon, the Immersive Epic’ is bringing the life and works of Napoleon Bonaparte to life through virtual reality technology. The project, managed by the Grand Palais National Museums Network (RMN), aims to provide a sensory and emotional reinterpretation of French history.
The exhibition is being hosted in multiple locations, including Muse in Saint-Dizier and Docks Village in Marseille. In Saint-Dizier, the experience features a 40-minute film divided into five chapters: learn, climb, govern, fight, and tell. The installation is designed to bring high-quality culture to regions outside of major metropolitan hubs.
In Marseille, visitors use VR headsets to experience a 360-degree environment where famous paintings come to life and historical scenes are reconstructed. The goal of the experience is not to replace traditional history books but to offer a different, more intuitive gateway to the Napoleonic era through immersive storytelling.
