Napoli Basketball launches ambitious season with EuroCup return and women's team

The Napoli Basketball club held a press conference in the Sala Giunta of Palazzo San Giacomola to present its new season. The club returns to European competition after a 20‑year absence, entering the EuroCup, and also launches the Napoli Women Basketball team in Serie A2 as part of the Napoli Capital of Sport strategy linked to the upcoming America’s Cup 2027.

Mayor Gaetano Manfredi, Sports Assessor Emanuela Ferrante, President Matt Rizzetta, General Manager James Laughlin, Director of Sport Francesco Cavaliere and Director of the women’s team Sara Bocchetti attended. Coach Jasmin Repesa said the budget allows the building of a very competitive squad, that the team will train in Slovenia to develop chemistry, and that they aim to be ready for the start of the domestic league and the EuroCup.

The announcement emphasizes the club’s ambition to combine top‑level competition, youth development and the growth of women’s basketball in the city of Naples.
