Napoli defender Luca Marianucci compared to Desailly by former coach

Former Pro Sesto coach Francesco Parravicini said that Napoli defender Luca Marianucci, who returned to the club after a season‑long loan at Torino, shows a strong personality for his age and can operate in multiple defensive roles. He likened Marianucci to former French centre‑back Marcel Desailly, noting his ability to play across a back‑three, as a centre‑back or even in front of the defence. Parravicini added that Marianucci’s development will depend on how he analyses last season’s mistakes and that under new Napoli manager Massimiliano Allegri – whose tactics emphasize defensive organization – the young defender has the chance to become a regular and an additional weapon for the side.
