The agreement covered only the final June salary for Allegri and his staff, allowing the coach to become a free agent. Shortly after, Napoli confirmed that Allegri will join the club on a three‑year contract worth €4.5 million net per season, with performance bonuses linked to Champions League qualification and a possible fourth‑year option. The termination saves Milan the €500 000 salary difference for the 2026‑27 season and avoids a larger payout that had been disputed. Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentis said the appointment aims to bring experienced leadership while keeping the squad’s wage bill sustainable; the club plans modest, targeted transfers rather than an overhaul.
