Scott McTominay, the 29‑year‑old Scottish midfielder, is set to extend his deal with SSC Napoli until 2030, with a salary increase. Napoli have tasked sporting director Giovanni Manna with finalising the renewal after the player reportedly turned down offers from Real Madrid and Barcelona to remain a "flag" of the club.

Club owner Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed the intention to build Napoli’s future around McTominay, extending his current contract that runs to 2028. The extension is also linked to a pay rise despite his disappointment at the recent World Cup performance.

In July 2026, McTominay and new signing Kevin De Bruyne were featured wearing Napoli’s new home kit for the 2026‑27 season, marking the club’s centenary celebrations.
