Napoli to hire Allegri on two‑year deal as club reshapes squad

Napoli have reached a provisional agreement with former AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri on a two‑year contract worth €4.5 million per season, with an option for a third year and performance bonuses for a league title or Champions League qualification. The deal hinges on Allegri terminating his contract with Milan, after which he can officially join the club.

The club’s sporting director Giovanni Manna is already planning the upcoming transfer window. Napoli have identified goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario (currently at Tottenham) as a target, though his €5 million annual salary and contract until 2028 pose financial challenges. In defence, the priority is Spanish centre‑back Mario Gila from Lazio, with additional interest in right‑back candidates such as Vanja Milinković‑Savić, Anan Khalaili, Dodo and Brooke Norton‑Cuffy. Midfield restructuring may involve players like Richard Ríos and Rabiot, especially if departures such as Frank Anguissa or Kevin De Bruyne occur.
