Napoli secures first Champions League win with 4-3 victory over Bodø/Glimt
Napoli earned their first three points of the Champions League league phase with a dramatic 4-3 win against Bodø/Glimt at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Scott McTominay was the standout performer, scoring two goals to lead the team to victory.
The match began with an immediate advantage for the hosts as Matteo Politano scored a spectacular volley within the first minute following an assist from Spinazzola. However, the Norwegian side responded, with Jens Petter Hauge equalizing in the 27th minute. McTominay restored Napoli's lead in the 41st minute after receiving a pass from Kevin De Bruyne.
In the second half, Bodø/Glimt fought back to level the score at 2-2 through Andreas Helmersen. McTominay struck again in the 75th minute to make it 3-2, before an own goal by Odin Bjørtuft extended the lead to 4-2. Bodø/Glimt managed a late consolation goal via Sondre Fet in stoppage time, but Napoli held on for the win.
Following the match, Napoli manager Massimiliano Allegri praised De Bruyne’s performance but noted the team's defensive fragility and the need to improve passing trajectories to avoid conceding easily.
