Napoli faces scrutiny following slow start to Serie A season

Napoli has experienced a slow start to the Serie A season, accumulating seven points from five matches. The team's recent performance includes victories against Genoa and Bologna, a draw against Fiorentina, and losses to Inter, Como, and Arsenal in the Champions League.

Analysts have noted a recurring pattern where the team dominates portions of matches but fails to convert superiority into wins. Despite the underwhelming results, there are currently no concrete signs of a separation between manager Massimiliano Allegri and club president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has defended the team's progress, suggesting that a more favorable run of results against tough opponents like Inter and Como could have placed the club much higher in the standings. He also characterized the recent Champions League loss to Arsenal as a narrow defeat that does not reflect poorly on the squad's overall structure.
