Napoli falls to Venezia in Serie A amid mounting pressure

Napoli suffered a 1-0 defeat against Venezia in Serie A, with Akor Adams scoring the decisive goal early in the second half. The loss marks Napoli's third defeat in seven league matches and their fifth defeat across all competitions this season, leaving the club in ninth place in the standings.

The defeat has intensified scrutiny on manager Massimiliano Allegri, though club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has publicly maintained his confidence in the coach. Allegri has noted that while results have been poor, team performances have shown improvement.

In addition to domestic struggles, Napoli faces challenges in the Champions League, having lost to both Arsenal and Villarreal. Their upcoming match against FC Porto at the Estádio do Dragão on 4 November will be critical for their hopes of progressing from the group stage. Meanwhile, reports suggest the club is interested in Sporting midfielder Issa Doumbia.
