Napoli initiates talks with Manchester United for Joshua Zirkzee

Napoli has initiated contact with Manchester United to explore a move for Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee. Following a period of limited playing time under Michael Carrick, where Zirkzee has recorded only 9 goals in over 70 appearances, Manchester United is reportedly valuing a permanent transfer at approximately €30 million to €35 million.

Napoli manager Massimiliano Allegri has expressed positive interest in the player, although the club is also considering the recovery of Lorenzo Lucca. Other Italian clubs, including Juventus and Fiorentina, are also monitoring the situation. While Zirkzee has struggled for minutes in the Premier League, his recent performance for the Netherlands national team, including a goal against Serbia in the Nations League, has maintained his market profile.

Manchester United, who purchased the striker from Bologna for over €42 million, may consider a loan deal or a permanent sale if his fortunes do not improve under the current coaching staff. Zirkzee is currently under contract until June 2029.
