Napoli manager Allegri considers De Bruyne role change after victory

Following a 4-3 UEFA Champions League victory over FK Bodo/Glimt at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, SSC Napoli manager Massimiliano Allegri is evaluating tactical shifts for his squad. Despite the win, Allegri noted defensive vulnerabilities, stating that the team made mistakes by allowing too many balls to pass through near the penalty area.

A key tactical discussion involves Kevin De Bruyne, who has been utilized in a deeper playmaker role in front of the defense. While Allegri believes De Bruyne will enjoy this position, the Belgian international has expressed that he is not particularly fond of the role. The club is weighing whether to continue with this setup or return to previous hierarchies, such as utilizing Lobotka in the deep-lying playmaker position, ahead of their upcoming match against Roma.

Napoli's victory, featuring goals from Scott McTominay, Matteo Politano, and Giovane, provided much-needed momentum after recent losses to Villarreal and Venezia.
