Napoli manager Allegri faces internal crisis after poor start
Tensions have escalated within SSC Napoli following a disappointing 1-1 draw against Fiorentina, marking the end of the initial period of harmony between manager Massimiliano Allegri and the squad. Reports indicate that Allegri reacted with intense anger in the locker room, involving shouting and physical outbursts of frustration against the team's performance.
The club has endured its worst start to a Serie A season in a decade, securing only seven points from five matches. This poor form has left Napoli six points adrift of the Scudetto zone and five points from Champions League qualification. Allegri has reportedly shifted from a supportive management style to one of strict discipline, citing a lack of competitive hunger among players.
A significant point of contention involves Kevin De Bruyne, whose form has not met expectations since joining as a free agent. Additionally, internal friction has emerged regarding club leadership, with reports suggesting Allegri feels unsupported by president Aurelio De Laurentiis. While rumors of Allegri's resignation have circulated, experts suggest his position remains secure as he seeks to implement tactical changes, potentially moving to a 3-4-2-1 formation during the upcoming break.
