Napoli plans January reinforcements amid Kevin De Bruyne uncertainty

Napoli is preparing for an active winter transfer window as manager Massimiliano Allegri seeks substantial reinforcements to complete the squad. President Aurelio De Laurentiis is reportedly willing to utilize part of the summer budget to secure two or three new players in January, potentially leveraging future Champions League revenues to fund these acquisitions.

Amidst these plans, Kevin De Bruyne’s future at the club appears uncertain. Despite joining Napoli in the summer of 2025, negotiations regarding a contract extension have stalled. Reports suggest that the 35-year-old Belgian midfielder may depart the club following the current season due to injury struggles and a diminishing role within Allegri’s tactical plans. Potential destinations for De Bruyne include Major League Soccer clubs such as Chicago Fire and San Diego FC, or a return to Belgium.
