Naples prepares for historic 100‑year celebration of Calcio Napoli

The city of Naples is gearing up for a large‑scale celebration on 31 July to mark the centenary of its football club, Calcio Napoli. Organized by the ultras community and the "Napoli è della gente" association, the event dubbed "100 anni d’amore" will begin with a gathering in Piazza dei Martiri at 17:00, followed by a parade that winds through the historic centre and reaches the Rotonda Diaz on the seafront by 19:00.

At the Rotonda Diaz a free open‑air exhibition will showcase historic photographs, rare jerseys and memorabilia, including a dedicated tribute to Diego Armando Maradona. Musical performances, guest appearances by former players and other cultural acts will be staged throughout the evening. At midnight, thousands of fans are invited to light torches or smartphones in unison, creating a coordinated illumination of the Gulf of Naples to signal the official start of the club’s second century.

The organizers stress that the celebration is open to anyone, with no admission fee, and is being supported by the municipality of Naples as a showcase of local identity and community spirit.
