Napoli set sights on Lazio defender Mario Gila

Italian club Napoli, sitting second in Serie A behind Inter, are targeting Lazio centre‑back Mario Gila to strengthen a defence that conceded 36 goals last season. Gila, a 2000‑born Spanish defender who came through Real Madrid’s academy, is valued at around €30 million and has a contract with Lazio until 2027. Real Madrid retains a 50 % sell‑on clause, adding complexity to any deal.

Napoli’s interest comes as the club moves on from former coach Antonio Conte and seeks to close an 11‑point gap with the champions. The team’s scouting list also includes defenders Federico Gatti, Koni De Winter and Andrea Natali, as well as right‑back options such as Anan Khalaili and Juanlu.
