Napoli readies squad for Allegri era, tackles De Bruyne, Lukaku and goalkeeper targets
Massimiliano Allegri is expected to become Napoli's new head coach, though the appointment has not yet been formalised. President Aurelio De Laurentis is waiting for the contractual release from Milan before announcing the move.
The club will use the pre‑season training camp in Dimaro (17‑27 July) to assess the current roster, which includes heavy‑salary players Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku. De Laurentis said the duo will train with the team and may leave if deemed unsuitable, noting their combined net wages approach €20 million.
Mid‑fielder Zambo Anguissa faces a contract that expires in 2027, with renewal talks stalled and interest from Saudi clubs. Napoli is also evaluating several goalkeeper options, most prominently Czech prospect Matej Kovar and Italian Ivan Provedel, as well as other targets such as Adrien Rabiot for defense.
According to club insiders, the main transfer activity is likely to begin after Ferragosto, once the squad has been trimmed and budgetary limits clarified.
