Napoli signs young defender Mattia Esposito from Sorrento

Napoli has completed a permanent transfer for defender Mattia Esposito from Serie C side Sorrento. The 22‑year‑old joined Sorrento’s youth system at age 14, progressed to the senior squad and recorded 27 appearances with one goal over the past two seasons.

The transfer fee has not been disclosed publicly, though market sources estimate it at around €700,000. Sorrento president Giuseppe Cappiello said the move reflects the club’s mission to develop young talent and wished Esposito success at Napoli, describing him as a “jewel” handed over to a top‑flight club.
