Napoli pushes for Chelsea defender Benoît Badiashile on loan
SSC Napoli, under sporting director Giovanni Manna, has identified Chelsea centre‑back Benoît Badiashile as its top defensive target. The French defender has indicated openness to a move to Naples, prompting the club to negotiate a loan deal. Napoli plans to secure Badiashile on a season‑long loan for a fee of around €3 million, with an option to buy for roughly €20‑30 million at the end of the term.
Chelsea’s asking price for a permanent transfer is reported at about €30 million, while Napoli has prepared an initial offer of €17.5 million. The club’s urgency is driven by injuries to centre‑backs Alessandro Buongiorno (knee surgery) and Sam Beukema, leaving the defence thin. Napoli is also keeping alternatives such as Jean‑Clair Todibo, Federico Gatti and Tiago Gabriel on its shortlist while finalising the Badiashile proposal.
The negotiations remain at the stage of agreeing personal terms with the player and securing Chelsea’s consent to the loan structure. If successful, Badiashile would join Massimiliano Allegri’s squad for the upcoming Serie A season.
