Napoli targets Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile with €30m offer

Italian club SSC Napoli have confirmed interest in signing French centre‑back Benoit Badiashile from Premier League side Chelsea. Chelsea are reportedly asking €30 million for the 25‑year‑old, while Napoli have prepared a bid of around €17.5 million and are also considering a loan with an option to buy. The move is prompted by an injury to Napoli defender Alessandro Buongiorno, who will miss two to three months after knee surgery, leaving the club short‑handed in defence. Napoli also have West Ham United defender Jean‑Claire Todibo on their radar as an alternative. Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has indicated Badiashile is not in the club’s future plans, having omitted him from the pre‑season squad and recent training sessions.
