Napretkov Week of Culture begins in Mostar

The seventh annual Napretkov Week of Culture (NTK) has commenced in Mostar, organized by the Croatian Cultural Society Napredak. The event opened at the Queen Katarina Kosača Gallery with a solo exhibition titled ‘Dijalog – monolog’ by sculptor and painter Ivona Skočilić. The opening featured art historian Dinko Baković and musical performances by Irena Kraljević and Dejan Marinović.

The program includes several academic and literary presentations. On October 16, 2026, the collection ‘Posljedice nestanka Bosanskog Kraljevstva’ (Consequences of the Disappearance of the Bosnian Kingdom) will be premiered in collaboration with the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Mostar. Additionally, a musical-poetic evening titled ‘Otkad tebe znam’ featuring actor Robert Krajinović is scheduled for October 21.

Another upcoming highlight is the presentation of a book regarding the reports of the first Austrian consul in Travnik, Joseph Paul von Mittesser, authored by Dr. Ivica Petrović and Dr. Ivica Glibušić. The organizers emphasized their commitment to preserving and publishing valuable historical and cultural materials through these publications.
