Nara Chandrababu Naidu leads Independence Day celebrations in Amaravati

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu led the 80th Independence Day celebrations in the capital, Amaravati, marking the first time the event was held in the city. Under the theme ‘Swarna Andhra-2047’, Naidu unfurled the national flag at the Parade Ground in Rayapudi.

In his address, the Chief Minister highlighted the state's transition from a period of instability to one of development and stability. He reported that the state's growth rate has reached 11.3 per cent and noted that the government has spent Rs 1.50 lakh crore on welfare and Rs 1.34 lakh crore on development over the last 26 months. He also mentioned efforts to reduce debt burdens and plans to fill teacher vacancies annually.

During the ceremony, Naidu presented awards to various parade contingents and tableaux. The Education and Integrated Shiksha tableau and the Horticulture Department tableau shared first prize, while the Handlooms and Textiles Department tableau secured second prize. Several police officials and security personnel were also honored with medals for their service.
