Nara man arrested for attempted murder of sister with dumbbell

A 26-year-old caregiver, Yoron Honma, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Yamatotakada, Nara Prefecture. On the morning of August 29, Honma allegedly struck his sister, who is in her 30s, multiple times on the head and other areas using a 4kg dumbbell.

The victim was transported to a hospital with bleeding from the back of her head but remains conscious. Honma admitted to the act, stating that he had been constantly mocked by his sister. He claimed he lost his patience after she entered his room without permission and knocked over figurines on his shelf.
