Narayanganj clash over brick kiln control leaves 10 injured

A violent clash erupted in the Baktabali Union of Fatullah, Narayanganj, between members of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and leaders of the banned Awami League. The conflict, which took place in the Akbarnagar area, reportedly stemmed from disputes over the control of brick kilns and illegal sand mining syndicates along the Dhaleshwari River.

At least 10 people were injured during the confrontation, including one individual, Hridoy, who was shot, and another, Raju Sheikh, who was hit by a pellet. Some of the injured were transported to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment. Witnesses reported instances of gunfire, vandalism, and attacks on residential homes.

Local police arrived at the scene to bring the situation under control and recovered 40 pellets from the area. While the area remains tense, authorities stated that the situation is currently stabilized and no arrests have been made yet. The dispute involves competing factions attempting to establish dominance over local business syndicates following recent political shifts.
