Narcotics Anonymous expands outreach across Karnataka, India

Narcotics Anonymous (NA) marked 34 years of presence in Bengaluru and announced plans to broaden its peer‑support programme throughout Karnataka. The fellowship is targeting cities such as Mysuru, Mangaluru and Hassan, coordinating with local authorities, healthcare providers and police to establish new meetings. NA reports daily gatherings in Bengaluru with 150‑200 participants and emphasizes a free, 12‑step model that treats addiction as a disease, aiming to reduce stigma and improve public awareness. The organisation also collaborates with hospitals, correctional facilities, colleges and mental‑health professionals.

Nova Recovery Center, a privately held addiction‑treatment provider, operates inpatient and residential programs in Austin and Wimberley, Texas, as well as outpatient and intensive outpatient services in Austin, Houston, San Antonio and Colorado Springs, Colorado. The centre offers telehealth IOP services nationwide and employs evidence‑based therapies such as CBT and DBT, partnering with Briarwood Detox Center for medically supervised detoxification.
