Narcotics Control Bureau targets trafficking networks in Rajasthan and Jharkhand
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has conducted significant operations against drug trafficking in India. In Rajasthan, the agency held its third Quarter State-level Joint Coordination Committee meeting in Jaipur to strengthen inter-agency intelligence sharing and financial investigations. The meeting involved representatives from the NIA, ED, Customs, and Income Tax departments, focusing on dismantling trafficking cartels and monitoring the illicit diversion of opium.
In Jharkhand, the NCB dismantled a trafficking ring in Ranchi, arresting six individuals, including an alleged kingpin named Jimmy. Investigators suspect the network has international links to suppliers in Thailand and Nigeria, utilizing railway pantry car staff to transport consignments. The group allegedly used international mobile numbers from the UK, US, and Thailand to facilitate the trade of cocaine and synthetic drugs. Seizures during the raids included cocaine, MDMA, and ganja.
