Nardò hosts Alda Merini tribute at Crocevia per lo Ionio festival

The Crocevia per lo Ionio festival, scheduled for August 26–28, 2026, in Nardò, will feature a special tribute to the Italian poet Alda Merini on August 27. The event, titled ‘Fate l’amore – Alda Merini Rock’, is a recital performed by Cosimo Damiano Damato and Erica Mou.

The performance combines poetry, music, and memory to explore the life of the poet. Damato, a storyteller and director who shared a personal relationship with Merini, will provide narration through monologues and previously unpublished verses. Erica Mou, a singer-songwriter and writer, will provide musical accompaniment, performing songs related to themes of madness, including works by Roberto Vecchioni, Vasco Rossi, Litfiba, Francesco De Gregori, Peggy Lee, John Lennon, and Don Backy.
