India launches Har Ghar Tiranga campaign ahead of Independence Day

As India approaches its 80th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and various government officials have launched a nationwide appeal for the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. The initiative encourages citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes to foster patriotism and honor the sacrifices of freedom fighters.

In a video message shared on social media, Prime Minister Modi urged families to make the Tricolour part of their celebrations and to pledge their commitment to the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (a developed India). This year’s campaign holds additional significance as it commemorates the 150th anniversary of the national song, ‘Vande Mataram’.

Support for the campaign has been expressed across various levels of government. In Himachal Pradesh, Governor Kavinder Gupta called for enthusiastic participation, while in Delhi, Lieutenant Governor T. S. Sandhu urged residents to join the movement. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also organized local events, including a Tricolour march in Bengaluru and a bike rally in Delhi, to promote the campaign and engage the youth.
