Narendra Modi directs ministers to ensure government schemes reach the last person

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting with water ministers and chief ministers from BJP-ruled states to review the implementation of government schemes, including the Jal Jeevan Mission. The discussions followed a five-hour workshop focused on water sector initiatives.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized that the success of government programs should be measured by their impact on the ground rather than through paper reports. He instructed officials to ensure that the benefits of these schemes reach the last person in the social queue and directed that no eligible individual be deprived of these services.

To improve efficiency, the Prime Minister called for better coordination between the central and state governments. He encouraged states to learn from each other’s successful models and best practices, adapting them to meet local needs. The meeting also highlighted the importance of continuous monitoring and strengthening delivery systems to overcome implementation hurdles.
