Narendra Modi launches Kannada Valmiki Ramayana translations in Mysuru
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre (Viveka Smaraka) built by the Ramakrishna Ashrama in Mysuru. During the ceremony he released Kannada translations of the Valmiki Ramayana and the Stories of Vedanta Monks, saying the books would bring India’s spiritual and literary heritage closer to Kannada readers, especially the youth, and inspire them to connect with cultural and philosophical traditions.
Modi posted photos on X, praising the Ashrama’s social service and its role in youth empowerment. BJP Youth Wing national president Tejasvi Surya welcomed the event, calling it a historic moment for Karnataka and a tribute to Swami Vivekananda’s 1892 visit to the city. He expressed hope that the centre will serve as a lasting source of inspiration for millions of young minds across the country.
