Narendra Modi praises citizen-led sanitation and patriotic campaigns
During the 137th episode of his monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat', Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the impact of public participation in social and patriotic initiatives.
Addressing sanitation, the Prime Minister praised citizen-led cleanliness drives, specifically citing the 'Clean-Up Patwai' group in Uttar Pradesh. He noted how local youths, such as Aakash and Rohan, mobilized residents to remove over one ton of plastic waste from Ganga ghats and local ponds. He emphasized that when cleanliness becomes a personal resolve, it transforms the identity of a community.
Modi also commended the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, which encourages citizens to hoist the national flag. He noted that the campaign, which coincided with the 150th anniversary of the national song 'Vande Mataram', saw over 8 crore 'Tiranga selfies' uploaded. The Prime Minister remarked that the celebration extended globally through the 'Suryapath Tiranga' initiative, with the flag being hoisted at Indian missions across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the United States.
