Narendra Modi reviews 30,000 crore rupee infrastructure projects
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 53rd PRAGATI meeting to review six major infrastructure projects in the railway, road, and power sectors. These projects, spanning nine states, have a cumulative cost exceeding 30,000 crore rupees.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized that the speed of project execution must be matched by uncompromising quality. He urged ministries and state governments to adopt integrated approaches, such as exploring common utility corridors, and to utilize modern technologies to strengthen supervision. He noted that delays in infrastructure not only increase costs but also postpone economic and social benefits for citizens.
In response to public concerns regarding infrastructure integrity, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced third-party quality audits for major roads, bridges, and expressways to ensure technical compliance and durability.
