Narendra Modi Stadium bomb threat declared a hoax

A bomb threat sent via email to several locations in Ahmedabad, including the Narendra Modi Stadium, the Gujarat High Court, and various schools, has been declared a hoax by authorities.

The threatening messages were received around 11:00 AM IST on Wednesday during an international Under-19 cricket match between India and Australia. To maintain order, match officials did not immediately notify the players, and play concluded normally. Both teams were safely escorted from the stadium complex after 1:00 PM IST following security protocols.

Law enforcement officials noted that the emails used pro-Khalistan pseudonyms and included slogans such as ‘Bolega Khalistan’ and ‘Khalistan Zindabad’. The sender specifically targeted upcoming concert dates for singer Diljit Dosanjh, urging parents not to send their children to his scheduled performances at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on November 1 and the Narendra Modi Stadium on November 21.
