Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth across 45 locations in India during the 20th Rozgar Mela. The event, held via video conferencing, marks a significant milestone in the government's mission-mode recruitment initiative, which has issued approximately 12.75 lakh appointment letters to date since its launch in October 2022.
The new appointees will serve in various central government departments, including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Defence, the Department of Revenue, and the Department of Financial Services.
During his address, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the role of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) in creating new career paths and mentioned that India is currently the world's third-largest startup ecosystem. He noted that the startup landscape is expanding beyond major cities into Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns. He also emphasized the government's commitment to expanding employment through schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, which aims to bring 2 crore young people into the formal workforce.
