Narendra Modi inaugurates 35,000 crore rupee projects in Vadodara
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Vadodara, Gujarat, to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for development projects valued at over 35,000 crore rupees. A primary highlight of the visit was the dedication of three key sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) to the nation. These sections, covering 326 route kilometers and costing over 20,700 crore rupees, provide direct connectivity to the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), aimed at reducing logistics costs and easing congestion on Mumbai’s railway network.
The Prime Minister also launched several railway and highway projects. This included laying the foundation for three railway expansion projects worth more than 9,700 crore rupees and three national highway projects. Additionally, he flagged off new freight and passenger train services, including a new service between Tanda Road and Vadodara to connect remote tribal areas.
During the 'NaMo for Viksit Bharat' event, the Prime Minister engaged with thousands of youth, emphasizing the importance of Artificial Intelligence and manufacturing skills. The event saw massive public interest, with registrations via BookMyShow selling out within one hour and leaving over 42,000 people on a waiting list. In Navsari, the Prime Minister also inaugurated the 'Namo Kalam' office, which is noted as the first AI-equipped district-level BJP office.
