Narendra Modi to inaugurate Viveka Smaraka in Mysuru on August 1

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Mysuru, Karnataka, on August 1 to inaugurate the Viveka Smaraka at the Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama. The memorial, built at the site where Swami Vivekananda stayed in 1892, includes a bronze statue of the reformer, a meditation hall and an interactive gallery.

Modi is scheduled to arrive at 3:30 p.m., offer floral tributes in the prayer hall, and lay the foundation stone for a youth‑service project. He will then address a public gathering of more than 6,000 residents and youth. Swami Muktidananda, president of the Ashrama, said the centre “has been built at the very place where Swami Vivekananda stayed,” highlighting its role in promoting the philosopher’s ideals among young Indians.
