PM Modi marks 10 years of surgical strikes in Mann Ki Baat
In the 138th episode of his monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed several national themes, most notably the upcoming 10th anniversary of the 2016 surgical strikes. He characterized the military operation as a decisive response to terrorism and a demonstration of India’s ‘zero-tolerance’ policy, linking it to subsequent actions like the Balakot airstrike and Operation Sindoor.
The Prime Minister also paid tribute to the late Ashok Singhal on his birth centenary, highlighting his contributions to social unity and the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. Additionally, he urged citizens to participate in the ongoing national census, noting that over 32 crore families have already been recorded.
Other topics included environmental conservation efforts in Assam, such as the return of elephants to the Sonai Rupai Wildlife Sanctuary and the revival of the pygmy hog population. He also highlighted local economic initiatives, including the ‘Har Ghar Munga’ campaign in Chhattisgarh, Amla processing in Pratapgarh, and the transformation of Modhera into India’s first solar village. Finally, he extended condolences to the families of Indians killed in the 9/11 attacks.
