Nariño offers tax relief for vehicle owners

The Departmental Assembly of Nariño has approved an ordinance providing tax relief for vehicle owners with outstanding debts. Under the new measure, taxpayers can access a reduction of up to 80% on penalties and late interest fees.

The benefit applies to obligations with pending interest and sanctions up to December 31, 2025, though the principal tax amount must be paid in full. The deadline to take advantage of this relief is December 15, 2026. The measure also covers obligations currently under payment agreements, with discounts calculated on the remaining balance.

According to the Sub-secretariat of Revenues, the system is being updated to implement the discounts, with the benefit expected to become operational starting September 21.
