Nariño Pacific region sees 26 combatants surrender weapons

A total of 26 men and women have voluntarily surrendered their weapons in the Pacific region of Nariño during 2026. These individuals intend to join institutional reintegration programs to transition to civilian life.

The Hercules Task Force, a military unit operating in the region, confirmed the figures. Colonel William Morales Guerrero, commander of the task force, stated that these voluntary surrenders reflect the impact of sustained military operations in one of Nariño's most security-challenged areas.

The surrenders occurred alongside territorial control and intelligence operations in various municipalities and rural sectors of the southern Pacific. The individuals have been placed at the disposal of competent authorities to begin or continue legal processes for reintegration. The military noted that each departure reduces the capacity of armed organizations to maintain members, support networks, and exert pressure on local communities.
