Naris Cosmetics advisor receives Osaka Governor's award

Tomohiro Terauchi, a technical advisor for the Research and Development Department at Naris Cosmetics Co., Ltd., has been honored with the Osaka Governor's Award for Meritorious Service in Pharmaceutical Affairs. The award was presented on October 22 at the Osaka Pharmaceutical Association Hall during the annual 'Medicine and Health Week.'

Terauchi was recognized for his extensive contributions to the cosmetics industry, including his expertise in basic research and formulation development for high-efficacy and sensitive skin products. Since 2003, he has held various technical committee positions within the Japan Cosmetic Industry Association and its Western Japan branch, working to establish industry standards for quality, safety, and reliability following regulatory changes.

Notably, the award is typically granted to individuals in the pharmaceutical sector, making Terauchi's recognition as a cosmetics professional a rare occurrence. His work includes publishing a glossary of cosmetic terms and serving as an education committee member for the Society of Cosmetic Scientists of Japan.
