Narlıdere Municipality begins renovation of Atatürk Cultural Center

Narlıdere Municipality has launched a comprehensive renovation project for the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM), a significant venue for culture and arts in both Narlıdere and the wider Izmir region. The project aims to modernize all functional areas to provide higher quality services to artists, art enthusiasts, and students.

Key improvements include the renovation of the Gürdal Tosun Stage, where existing seating is being replaced with more comfortable options, backstage areas are being updated to contemporary standards, and the stage floor is being repaired. The modernization also extends to the building’s interior, including walls, ceilings, corridors, and steps, as well as the electrical systems to enhance safety and efficiency.

Additionally, the project involves upgrading the foyer, common areas, restrooms, and educational workshops. Maintenance work is also being conducted on the center’s roof in preparation for the winter season. Narlıdere Mayor Erman Uzun stated that the project is being carried out using local resources with support from the Metropolitan Municipality to create a more modern and comfortable space for the community.
