Naruto animated film announcement expected at New York Comic Con

Viz Media has confirmed that an announcement regarding a new Naruto animated film is expected during a franchise panel at New York Comic Con on October 10, 2026. The announcement is anticipated to include a worldwide premiere of footage from the feature film.

Industry reports suggest the movie project may be linked to the previously announced 20th-anniversary revival series, which focused on the early days of Team 7 but was placed on an indefinite hiatus during production. Because that revival was originally planned as a limited four-episode series, speculation exists that the project may have been restructured into a feature-length film.

The upcoming panel will feature Japanese voice actors Junko Takeuchi and Noriaki Sugiyama, alongside Studio Pierrot executive producer Yoshihiko Tominaga and a representative from Bandai. In addition to the film news, Viz Media plans to share the first promotional video for the Naruto Card Game.
