Japanese high school sports: Baseball and handball championship updates

The 108th National High School Baseball Championship continues at Koshien Stadium with several key matchups. In a dramatic 11-inning tiebreaker, Chiben Wakayama defeated Tsuruga Kehi 7-3, marking their first appearance in the best eight since 2021. Kazumasa Kawahara played a decisive role for Chiben Wakayama, hitting both an equalizer and the winning run.

In a highly anticipated 'North Kanto Derby,' Ken Dai Takasaki defeated Sano Nichidai 4-1, preventing Sano Nichidai from reaching the best eight for the first time in 29 years.
