NASA Administrator calls for agency involvement in UAP investigations
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman has stated that the agency must be involved in investigations if significant findings regarding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) emerge. Speaking in an interview, Isaacman suggested approaching the subject with an open mind, though he noted that increased reports are likely due to misunderstood natural phenomena or covert maneuvers by geopolitical adversaries rather than extraterrestrial visits.
This stance follows official efforts in the United States to prioritize the transparency of government files related to UFOs and UAPs. Under the PURSUE (Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters) initiative, the administration has directed agencies to locate and disclose relevant data, which is being released periodically through official government portals.
Historically, NASA imagery has frequently fueled speculation. Examples include the 1976 Viking 1 photograph of the Cydonia region on Mars, which some interpreted as a face, and more recent Curiosity rover images of rock fractures and formations that observers have claimed resemble biological structures or artificial bases.
