NASA awards EarthDaily $3 million task order for Landsat integration

EarthDaily has been awarded a $3 million task order by NASA to provide EarthDaily Constellation data and technical support to NASA and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The project aims to evaluate new methods for integrating commercial capabilities into federal land imaging programs.

The initiative, known as the Sustainable Land Imaging (SLI) commercial transition, will examine how commercial Earth observation data can complement existing government systems. The goal is to ensure these data sources meet the scientific quality and continuity requirements established by the Landsat record.

Under the contract, NASA and the USGS will assess EarthDaily Constellation data against Landsat standards, focusing on calibration, stability, radiometric and geometric performance, and harmonizability. Additionally, the work will explore how commercial observations can support the development of AI-ready products designed for modern machine-learning workflows.
