NASA recognizes Almirante Brown program as Buenos Aires honors teachers
The NASA administration has recognized the “Brown mira al Cielo” (Brown looks to the Sky) municipal program in Almirante Brown, Argentina. The program, managed by the local Secretariat of Education, Science, and Technology, participated in the International Observe the Moon Night on September 19. The initiative uses open telescopes to allow residents to observe and learn about the moon, aiming to bring science and lunar exploration closer to the community.
In Buenos Aires, the city government held the 2026 “Docentes de la Ciudad” awards ceremony at the Teatro Colón to honor teachers for innovative educational projects. Under the “Buenos Aires Aprende” plan, winning teams from both public and private schools received grants of up to 10 million pesos. The awards focused on priority areas such as language, mathematics, socio-emotional well-being, and inclusive education, as well as special mentions for digital protection and student attendance.
