Nasarawa Governor Abdullahi Sule Relieves Six Commissioners in Cabinet Reshuffle
On July 22, 2026, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State removed six commissioners overseeing Works, Women Affairs, Information, Lands, Science and Technology, and Security. The decision was announced by Secretary to the State Government Labaran Magaji after the State Executive Council meeting in Lafia. Magaji said the move aims to inject fresh ideas and strengthen governance for the remaining months of the administration, noting that the dismissed officials had performed well and may be reassigned later.
The council also discussed ways to boost internally generated revenue by leveraging recent investments in the lithium sector, following the inauguration of one of Africa's largest lithium processing plants in the state, an event attended by President Bola Tinubu's representative Vice‑President Kashim Shettima.
