Nasarawa Governor inaugurates 5.2km Akwanga-Jos bypass

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has inaugurated the newly completed 5.2-kilometre Akwanga-Jos bypass in the Akwanga Local Government Area. The project is intended to decongest Akwanga town, reduce travel time for motorists traveling from Keffi or Gudi to Jos by over five kilometres, and mitigate frequent traffic accidents within the town center.

Governor Sule described the bypass as an “economic corridor” designed to withstand heavy-duty vehicles and stimulate new commercial activities and settlements. To enhance safety, the administration pledged to install solar street lights along the route.

In addition to the bypass, the Governor inaugurated one-kilometre roads in the Akwanga, Nassarawa-Eggon, and Wamba Local Government Areas. These smaller projects were completed by their respective local government chairmen, who credited the projects to the autonomy granted to the local councils by the state government.
